The hubby just came back from a trip. We decided to go out for dinner.

We approached his car and he pressed the remote entry device to his car.

“Tweet Tweet”. (car unlocked)

“Tweet” (car locked)

Hubby scratched his head, puzzled. Pressed his remote again.

“Tweet Tweet”. (car unlocked again)

“Tweet” (car locked again)

Hubby went like “Huh?” and pressed again. I suppressed a giggle bubbling inside me.

“Tweet Tweet”.

This repeated another few times. Hubby got real baffled and looked at his remote entry key fob. Started to shake the remote furiously.

I burst into hilarity and he just looked at me, with a look of bewilderment. “Something’s wrong with the remote lah, seriously. The car auto locks itself.”

laughterI couldn’t stand it any longer. I laughed again, this time, putting out my right hand which was concealed in my pockets earlier on.

He peered over, broke into a grin and poked me at my side.

I had the other set of remote in my right hand. nonchalant

HEHEHEHE! I can be so childish sometimes.

“Welcome home to my pranks dear!”

HAHAHAHAHA. This is really how we keep the romance and gist going in our marriage. Hehehe.

Recharged

Alright people, it’s a little belated but still, something to share with you.

Us, Malaysians have probably invigorated ourselves from our weekend getaways last week. I sure have.

Though I would love a longer holiday but then again, I’m saving more time and $$$ for a better trip. Not that I’m complaining about our Cameron trip this year, but I’m looking forward to our ‘planned’ trip to NZ. This ‘plan’ had been floating in our minds for a couple of years but yet to be actualized. Still keeping my fingers crossed for that.

Now, back to our Cameronian experience this time.

In a nutshell, we slept and ate and slept some more.

Unlike previous trips to Cameron Highlands which involved lotsa photo taking and visiting to all those darned tourist spots which only squeezed us dry with their unreasonable prices and fees. How should I put it…erm…I guess, the price we pay just to look at some spiky unattractive cactus is just like highway-robbery.

The most anticipated place which I wanted to go this time was the BOH Tea Plantation in Sungai Palas. I’ve not been there for a long time and boy was I surprised to see its drastic change. The place had somewhat gone commercialized.

Gone were the wooden tea leaves processing factory, the small swing by the side and the cosy little tea house whereby patrons got to sit under the tropical trees and enjoy their tea, specially brewed with fresh tea leaves.

tea riaWhat took place now was a posh and modern looking, well-facilitated area with a patio built, overlooking the lush tea plantation. The cosy tea house was replaced with a sorta chic place with clipped and smartly dressed F&B attendants. Not too bad of a change, actually.

The only letdown was that the place was crammed full with whimpering and screaming kids and harassed looking parents. There were occasional Mat Sallehs with dirty boots (probably went hiking up Gunung Brinchang) and a couple of lovebirds who took the opportunity to ‘pak-toh’. We tried to read a little but the constant noises from the unhappy children really spoilt the mood a little. How could the parents just sit there and ignore their screaming kids? Beats me, man.

Crammed ourselves full with food. Ice-cream was no exception, of course!

taufufa

And then, there were the bowls of hot Tau Fu Fa. It was the tastiest soft Tau Fu Fa EVER! I swear! And we can add Cendol, Red Bean or Cincau to our preference with only an additional RM0.10

steamboat

Nothing beats the experience of slurping hot soup and vegetables from the steamboat pot on a cold afternoon or night. We ate this for two whole days.

menjaja

Another silly sign I saw. Found that the message was redundant anyway cos once again, it reminds us how useless some signs are in Malaysia. The hawker was happily selling her ‘fried mushrooms’ and ‘fried sweet potatoes’, ignoring the sign placed next to her stall.

The patio at Boh Ria Refreshment, overlooking the green surroundings. Cool place for tea drinking, I might say.

Snapped this pic of the panoramic view of the Tea Plantation while we were on our way to the BOH Tea House in Sungai Palas.

One word described it all…BREATHTAKING.

Do we look alike? Do we, huh? Do we? That’s my very pregnant sister and a very un-pregnant moi. Photo taken by my 4 year old niece. I must say, the kid really have some talent, man!

Jammin’ all the way

Monday, September 3, 2007

All of us had the urge to get down the car and kiss the ground once we reached home. It was the exhaustion which kept us from actually doing it.

Yeah, we’re back from our road trip to the Highlands of Pahang. And don’t even try to ask what time we got home.

It was a unanimous agreement that we will NEVER have a holiday during the holidays anymore. Nope! We’d rather stay at home and watch TV while eating peanuts. Let the rest of the Malaysians jam their way to and fro! Okay, let me admit this. WE HAVE LEARNT OUR LESSON.

jammin2While we were stuck in the LONGEST queue ever in the North-South highway from Tapah back to KL, we kept ourselves entertained in the weirdest ways we can think of. What the heck, I knew folks who were comfortably fed and at home were probably having the biggest laughs at us, the jokers who were still STUCK in the traffic jam. So, we might as well keep ourselves jolly and in high spirit rather than bitching about the condition. Anyhow, we were stuck. So be it.

We sang the silliest songs, we burped ‘durian’ all the way (we had some durians before we started our journey from Cameron Highlands at my uncle’s house), we exchanged mumbo-jumbo talks, cracked stupid jokes and fooled around with the camera.

jammin1 The hubby was engaged in a 6 hour ‘fun’ of entertaining my niece. They had so many play acts that he couldn’t remember if he was the son/father/teacher/wolf (from the Little Red Riding Hood)/hunter/crocodile/monster etc. Well, all I can say is that he’s the most patient man I’ve ever known. I don’t think even I could put up with all the kiddy talk for that long!

Anyway, have no time to upload the pics we took during our holiday. Will post it later tonight.

Flowers Galore

Thursday, August 30, 2007

The Sister has been leaving some hints about the Flora Fest at Putrajaya for a few days and I thought it would be a lovely experience for XR my niece to explore more about flowers and stuffs. What the heck, Putrajaya is not really that far anyway.

So, we packed our cameras and hopped into the car.

We were welcomed with the deafening yet familiar sounds of the Lion Dance once we reached the location of the event. Throngs of people especially kids were fascinated with the lion dance. It was funny to see every kid cringe and back away once the lion (or should I say, the people behind the lion head) went near them. My niece was not of exception. She kept saying that she was afraid and asked if there was a man behind the lion’s head.

Anyways, I was not really awed with the small range of flowers exhibited. Most of them were withered and seemed to have seen better days.

Nevertheless, my niece was enthralled with the place and kept running around. I must admit, somehow, I felt a little ‘MUHIBAH‘-ness at that event cos there were people from all walks of life.

What I really liked was the serene surroundings of the lake and the sunset was quite breathtaking. Must remember to bring the hubby to watch the sunset from there.

My favourite time of the day!

AliBaba?

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

CharmingMarkus has completed his internship with SH theSister. You see, he offered to help out SH theSister and the BIL (brother-in-law) for three months. They agreed and he flew to Malaysia from his home country Austria.

Throughout the three months here, he’d been like a family to us. SH the Sister said, he’s like a brother and sometimes, when he goofed around with XR (my niece), a son.

One day, I was at theSister’s place and we had a short conversation.

Markus : I have a poor memory when it comes to remembering Chinese names.

Me : Yeah, I bet you can’t remember my Chinese name.

Markus : Uh…I remember your name on the Internet, Blusher, right?

Me : Yeah. But my Chinese name is Suet Li.

Markus : Yeah, like your sister Suet Hui. But still I can’t remember Chinese names that well.

Me : My grandma used to call me Ah Li. The Chinese like to call people with ‘Ah’s followed by their last name. Like my sister, Ah Hui.

Markus : Ah Li?

Me : Yes, but nobody EVER calls me that. It sounds a little weird to me.

Markus : Ah Li? As in AliBaba and the Forty Thieves? (stops for a moment, continued LOL). Yes, I will remember this name better. AliBaba.

Me : -_-
