Last Sunday, I attended a friend’s wedding at a pristine Spa Resort. It was meant to be a garden wedding, with the gazebo and flowers and stuffs. However, the dream wedding was somewhat perturbed a little when grey clouds formed and down came the rain.
Despite the gloomy weather outside, the wedding proceeded with gaiety and romance in the ballroom. It was a Christian wedding and there was the Ring Bearer and the Flower Girl. Everything was so perfect and I salute my friend, the bride, despite the minor adjustments with the reception, who continued to walk down the aisle with a sparkling and glowing look. She looked really radiant! Wished I could put her picture here but due to privacy purpose, I have decided not to put it up.
Anyways, they exchanged their vows with declaration of love and I couldn’t help but felt touched at the core of my heart. I actually teared! Wow! Suddenly, I understood why people cry at weddings. The bridegroom was so sincere and tender. I’m truly happy for my friend to have found a man who’s so full of love for her and possesses great humour.

This has been the most romantic wedding I’ve been to, so far. The atmosphere was serene and yet, romantic. The bride’s gown and hairdo was simple yet so elegant. The guests were gay yet respectful. It’s so unlike some Chinese weddings which I’ve been to, where the atmosphere was so noisy that we practically had to raise our voices to chat and the place was bombarded with uncles and aunties, singing karaoke. Yikes!
Well, cultures are different in so many ways, not that I’m looking down upon Chinese cultures or whatsoever. Oh..nothing of that sort. Just voicing a personal preference in celebrating a couple’s love and sacred communion.
Anyways, to JR & Nick : May you be blessed with humour and laughter in your marriage.
